Law library for AI assistants

How do I give Claude or ChatGPT a real law library?

Add our connector. Your assistant can then look up court rules, statutes and court opinions in our database and cite the source, instead of answering from memory.

~10 million
court opinions, with 77 million citation links
3,687 courts
court rules across 57 jurisdictions
50 states + federal
statutes, plus DC and Puerto Rico

Coverage

What is in the law library?

The federal rules (civil, criminal, appellate, evidence, bankruptcy and the Supreme Court Rules), the rules of all 13 federal circuits, and state court rules state by state.

Statutes

The U.S. Code and the codes of all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Case law

About ten million court opinions, with citation lookup and a ranking of the strongest authority on a point.

Not yet

Local rules (district, bankruptcy and county) and federal regulations. Check those at the source.

Set up

How do I connect it to Claude?

About a minute. You need a free account first.

Included with every account

Every account, Free included, comes with the connector and API keys. Your connector address, today’s usage and your keys are always on your account page.

  1. Create an account. The Free plan needs no card. Already have one? Sign in.
  2. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose to add a custom connector.
  3. Paste this address and save:
    https://mcp.legalopsdepot.com/mcp
  4. Sign in with your account email and password when Claude asks. Then ask a question; your assistant uses the library when it needs a source.
For developers

Can I use it from my own software?

Yes. Make an API key on your account page and call the same read-only tools over HTTPS. Calls count against the same daily limit as the connector.

curl -X POST \
  -H "authorization: Bearer slo_ak_…" \
  https://mcp.legalopsdepot.com/v1/tools/<tool>

How much does the law library cost?

Billed monthly. Cancel any time from your account page. A call is one lookup.

Need court filings prepared rather than research? That is a separate, one-time purchase: filing work and prices.

Questions

Law library questions

Is the law library legal advice?

No. It is a research tool: it returns the text of rules, statutes and court opinions with their citations, so you and your assistant work from the real source instead of memory. We are not a law firm and nothing here is legal advice.

Can the connector change anything in my account?

No. The connector is read-only. It looks things up; it cannot file, edit or delete anything.

Which AI apps does it work with?

Any app that can add a custom MCP connector, including Claude. You can also call the same research tools from your own software with an API key.

What counts as a call?

Each lookup your assistant makes is one call. Calls are counted per account per day (UTC), across the connector and the API together. Free, Plus and Pro allow 30 calls a minute; Firm allows 300, because one Firm account is shared by an office.

What is not in the library yet?

Local rules (district, bankruptcy and county rules) and federal regulations are not in it yet. Check those with the court or agency directly.
